Here are the pictures of the installation I made for the Artery; it was something really different for me to work three dimensionally, and I must say I liked it.  I will definitely plan some future projects that will hang from the ceiling.  The idea for the installation was to communicate in an abstract way the feeling of walking in Audubon Park in the late afternoon, hence the birds floating around, the water print and the leafy patterns.  That being said, I definitely would do somethings differently next time around.  Did I mention that I learned how to use a sewing machine last week so that I could sew these suckers?

alaina helped me to hang two of the three from the
balcony in hanes art center, sure does look like they
belong there.  they are 15 feet tall

from outside

atmospheric/calming

installed in the artery for the opening, the bottom is
rolled under to compensate for the shorter space,
although I love the black, unfinished ceiling,
perfect for hanging installations

this is a close up of the printing; the printing is made up of water, birds and textile patterns.  the fact that people could walk in between them is the best part about them, plus people seem to really like the soft ambient glow they give off

*again, thank you so much alaina, juliet, natalia, natalie, alicia and beth for helping me*
